Expansion of New York Court Operations

There is a light at the end of this tunnel. Litigants can expect to see more expanded court operations moving forward. For now, as of May 4, 2020, the New York Courts are now offering the following expanded services:

Expanded Motion Practice: New Motions and responses to existing motions can be filed in Courts regardless of whether they used the Court Systems e-filing system called NYSCEF. This Electronic Document Delivery System (EDDS) can be used by both lawyers and non-lawyers.

Problem-Solving Courts: Virtual Conferences

ADR: Judges may resume referring cases to Alternative Dispute Resolution

Appeals: Notices of Appeal may be filed electronically.

Electronic Document Delivery System (EDDS)
A system of secure document transmission by court users to judges, clerks of court, and other UCS offices around the State. May also be used for filing of documents in pending cases in any courts. For more information view the EDDS Notice and the EDDS FAQs.Secure documeent
